Wednesday, February 27th (DEBATES/CONGRESS)

 

Location: Venture High School

Entries: Each school is allowed 4 entries in each of the following:

Speech Events (Tues):

Impromptu (IMP)

Original Oratory (OO)

Extemp (EXT) (there will be 2 nation topics and 1 foreign topic drawn from the Jan/Feb/March list)

 

Debate Events (Wed):

Lincoln-Douglas (LD)

Public-Forum (PF)

SPAR

Congress (CON)

 

Resolution: LD and PF will be using the March Resolution

LD - Resolved: The illegal use of drugs ought to be treated as a matter of public health, not of criminal justice.
PF - Resolved: The United States should promote the development of market rate housing in urban neighborhoods.

 

Food: Venture will provide only light concessions for students who bring cash. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY. Dinner will be provided for coaches and judges.

 

Judges: Judges will need to be registered on tabroom.com with an associated email and phone number.  We will be running this tournament primarily through Tabroom, so please ask your judges to bring a phone, laptop, or tablet with them if they can.  Please get judges in ASAP. The UHSAA Region 16 has stated that they will pay for judges at the region tournament and we will collect judge information on tournament day.

 

Deadlines: Deadline for entries AND judges is Friday, February 22 on Tabroom.
